Changelog
### 1.16.1
- v1.16.1
- What's new
- Every fight now uses one combat engine.
- Arena bouts, gang battles, dungeon escapes, catacombs encounters, and fights involving the player no longer run through separate, drifting rules. Gang fights reach decisions more reliably, defenders hold on a draw, and combat damage is reported accurately.
- The Gangs screen has been rebuilt.
- The new screen supports sorting, multi-selection, keyboard navigation, and renaming gangs. It also lays the groundwork for persistent individual gang members and leaders in the next update.
- Install packs by dragging them into the Content Manager.
- Drop in a pack folder or .zip and the game validates, installs, and loads supported content without a restart. Available on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Images are handled through one shared system.
- The Gallery can now play looping WebM cards, and absolute-path portraits load correctly on macOS and Linux.
- Brothel Setup has a cleaner layout.
- Sex restrictions now cover all eleven supported categories, and potion and room purchases charge the price shown on screen.
- User-facing documentation.
- Next to well-known modding documentation, there is now user-facing documentation. Has only one article right now but it will grow over the next weeks.
- 1.15.6 - Public release:
- Working girls & refusals
- Whores refuse far fewer customers, and one refusal no longer snowballs into a ruined shift.
- Every refusal now has a real reason — unhappiness, pride, disobedience, spotting a disease, disliking the act — and meaningful follow-on effects.
- The dungeon now has real refusal: a tortured girl may hold out, defy, beg, dissociate, or simply endure.
- Diseased girls now anger the customers they expose, and a girl can no longer pass on an illness she doesn't actually carry.
- Brothel & Turn Summary
- Turn Summary now reports real whoring numbers ("X served, Y refused").
- Customers are now simulated brothel-wide — a customer who wants a specific girl is sent to her first.
- Jobs
- The Recruiter actually recruits new girls now, instead of only promoting your brothels.
- New gang mission: Serve the Community — a non-violent civic option that slowly builds reputation and security.
- New Performer street-booth job (glory-hole oral role).
- Far more shift narration across many jobs (strippers, cooks, cleaners, pets, guards, bar staff), and shift portraits now match the job instead of a generic profile picture.
- Arena
- The Arena now actually works — girls fight, earn, gain skills, and rest/recover instead of vanishing or fighting while shown dead.
- Fights are now simulated round-by-round, and the Arena earns gate income instead of draining your gold.
- Form a named Arena Team and field it against rival stables in exhibition matches.
- Bug fixes
- Fixed a crash when loading a save with two or more girls living in your House (or Arena).
- A drug bust no longer wipes your entire brothel inventory.
- Shop and inventory items stop vanishing from the list after a purchase or transfer.
- Two girls fighting could crash the game — fixed, along with catacombs and prison-bust freezes.
- The last loaded item never appeared in the shop — fixed.
- Players could no longer give girls diseases out of nowhere; the player can now also catch and auto-cure STDs.
- Temporary-effect items no longer slowly drain a girl's stats.
- Saves now write reliably, and a failed save warns you instead of failing silently.
- Numerous UI fixes: girl-selection desync, accidental double-select, selection highlight surviving the Day/Night toggle, and portrait flicker/leak.
- Location hotkeys no longer misbehave on the main menu or before a game starts.
- Quality of life & content
- Animated main-menu backdrop.
- Addiction cures and girl cures are now used automatically (matching the existing disease auto-cure).
- Body traits stay coherent — girls no longer stack conflicting butt or figure tiers.
- For pack authors / modders
- Pack validator now ships on macOS and Linux, can auto-fix typo folders and stale image lists, and flags trait contradictions.
- One unified file grammar for .girlsx / .rgirlsx, conditional item effects, traits that inflict states (In Heat, Spirit Possessed), authored virginity, per-outcome image overrides, and one-block trait exclusion groups.
- Content Manager can spawn loaded girls and items straight in for testing.
- # WM: Crossgate 1.14.6
- ## New Features
- - **The Arena.** A brand-new building you can buy from the Town map. Send your girls to fight beasts, fight each other, train, or work the venue. Nine jobs across combat, crafting, and support roles, with its own management screen and roster.
- - **The discovery.** Walking around the city enough can now turn up landmarks you didn't know were there. Find it once and it becomes a permanent spot on the map you can revisit. Have you found it - let us know in the thread!
- - **Favorites.** Mark your standout girls as favorites. Their name picks up a star everywhere she appears. To be updated in the next versions
- - **House hub screen.** The House now has its own overview screen, matching the Arena layout.
- ## Improvements
- - **Trait gains feel earned, not random.** Traits learned from work no longer pop on a random weekly dice roll. Each shift builds visible progress, and Girl Details now shows a progress bar so you can see exactly how close a girl is to earning a trait.
- - **Far more traits.** The trait list grew from around 70 to over 230, covering supernatural species, professions, body types, tattoos and piercings, and a much wider personality range. Most come with real gameplay effects.
- - **Unique girls stand out.** Authored, hand-made girls now show in gold text in your girl lists and the Slave Market, so they're easy to tell apart from random girls.
- - **Font size option.** A new setting lets you scale the text up or down on the older screens.
- - **Cleaner first-run experience.** Loading games with lots of older packs installed no longer floods the log with noise.
- ## Fixes
- - Fixed pack-made girls that could permanently vanish from the Slave Market after loading a saved game.
- - Fixed Group and Lesbian images leaking into normal sex scenes even when those acts were turned off for a girl.
- - Fixed images appearing blank in-game while still showing in the gallery.
- - Fixed custom encounter and conversation scripts shipped inside packs not being found.
- ## For Modders
- - The pack validator tool got a major upgrade: plain-English error messages, a watch mode that re-checks packs as you edit, VS Code integration, and a standalone build you can run without a full game install.
- - Image manifests now behave additively, so listed and unlisted images both load correctly.
- - New trait, image-tag, and job-condition options for pack authors.
- **1.13 (jobs overhaul)**
- - 45+ jobs across House, Bar, Brothel, Dungeon and Catacombs are now fully moddable: pack authors can retune wages, outcomes, narration and trait gains without touching code
- - Major content pass: richer narration, randomized trait rotations and skill gains restored across Bar Singer, Peepshow, Piano, Stripper, Waitress, Whore, Torturer and more, parity with Legacy WM7
- - New Performance skill (used by Bar and House jobs)
- - Trait pricing fix: girls with active stat modifiers are now priced and gated correctly everywhere
- **1.12 (consumables + traits)**
- - New consumables: items can be used during a shift, auto-trigger on conditions, run out, or be refused; ships with a Coffee item and Caffeine Addict trait
- - Trait effects rewritten from the ground up: stackable, live-updating, save-safe, no more "relearn the trait after loading"
- - Pack authors can now write entirely new traits (stat boosts, skill caps, enjoyment, modifiers) in pure XML, no recompile
- - Lua scripting hooks expanded for pack authors
- **Fixes since 1.11**
- - Each pack's traits and items files are actually loaded (previously only the first folder's were picked up)
- - Caravan slave market resets cleanly on quit-to-menu
- - Empty Bar tab and casino naming bugs fixed
- - Older saves load gracefully into the new trait and job systems
- **For modders**
- - Authoring kit overhauled with cookbook, snippets and reference pages for jobs, traits, consumables and conditions
- - (Upcoming) Pack validator now catches malformed trait effects
- 1.11.0
- Image types now fully data-driven from ImageTypes.xml - add a new kink tag with a one-line XML edit, no recompile
- Pack authors can split images into per-type subfolders (Profile/, Sex/, etc.); Content Manager counts both root and subfolder files
- Pregnant portraits no longer leak into non-pregnant girls' portrait slots (and vice versa) in Slave Market, Girl Management, House, Dungeon, Girl Details
- Gallery auto-splits into per-type rows: packs with Strip, Nude, Milk, Titty, Bed, Combat, Swim, Ecchi art now get a dedicated row each instead of a polluted Profile row
- Pregnancy duration modifiable by traits (preg_duration effect) and potions (PregAdvance item effect); two sample pregnancy potions ship in PregnancyPotions.itemsx
- Monster pregnancies get their own base duration, configurable separately
- New Lua pregnancy API for scripters
- Pack discovery fixes: shipped config pointed at the wrong folder on fresh install (samples now load), Content Manager reads the configured Packs path, three-location fallback self-heals stale installs
- Loading an old save no longer wipes newly-installed pack girls out of the roster
- Slave Market: cloned unique girls carry their pack images; duplicate-name uniques show as "Name" and "Name (2)"
- Sample packs now ship Status="Slave" so the caravan unique pool actually has girls on first run
- House: Next/Prev navigation works from House-opened Girl Details; Item Management (trader) sees House girls; trader defaults to Shop-sells / Player-buys
- 1.10.1
- Smarter image fallback: scoring picker rates candidates on 4 axes (pregnancy, futa, tied, participants) plus a configurable Type affinity table; pack authors can override weights via their own image-fallback.xml
- Content Manager and Gallery migrated to RmlUi (modern UI)
- Added option to open pack folder on disk directly from Gallery / Content Manager
- Modder reference docs published: every stat, every skill, all 237 traits grouped by type, every job by building, image fallback config
- Rust 2.x next-gen build gets its own release pipeline
- 1.10.1
- Changed UI for Content Manager and Girl gallery view
- Added option to go to the folder on disk directly from the Gallery/Content Manager
- 1.10.0
- House building – new residential building with 11 jobs and girl harem management
- Crazys pack format natively supported (images.xml, fallback graphs, multi-tag images)
- Modern UI rolled out (RmlUi top bar, 5 screens migrated)
- 4-axis image tag system (Type, Participants, Pregnant/Futa/TiedUp, Style) with ~80 base types
### 1.9.0
- v1.9.0
- The dungeon has been completely rebuilt, its dialogue finally reads like something written by a human, and the game has started telling you what your actions actually do to a girl's stats.
- The new dungeon has a clean three-column layout: prisoners and customers on the left, the selected girl's image in the middle (with support for dedicated torture and jail art, falling back to her profile picture if the pack doesn't provide it), and the full action column on the right. Every action is still here: View Details, Interact, Brand, Sell, Feed, Starve, Torture, Release, mass-release options. Multi-select still works. Low-health rows glow red, content-pack girls glow gold, starving rows show a warning tint, and the whole thing finally fits the look of the rest of the game.
- Scripted narration and choice menus got a proper overhaul while the dungeon was open. Message text now slides in as an overlay you can actually read, the old four colour tiers (info, warning, positive, financial) are back in a darker palette, and the choice buttons live in the same panel instead of floating behind the sidebar where they used to hide.
- The real player-facing win: scripted stat and skill changes are finally visible. Scolding, torturing, or interacting with a dungeon girl used to move her numbers around in silence. Now each interaction's real effect rolls up into a one-line summary on her Turn Summary ("Interaction result: Obedience +10, Spirit -3, PC Hate +2"). Trait modifiers and caps are baked in, so Fragile, Tough, Construct, and Incorporial are finally legible instead of baffling. This covers the whole game, not just the dungeon.
- The game walks a girl down a six-step spirit ladder (fierce, defiant, sullen, yielding, crushed, broken) and responses react accordingly. A fierce prisoner under torture clenches her jaw and refuses to scream. A broken one flinches at your shadow on the wall. Torture, Force, Chat, and a brand-new Interrogate action each have around a dozen tiered lines now, and they rotate so you stop seeing the same sentence twice in a row.
- Also: new Credits screen on the main menu, with Special Thanks and a support line linking Patreon and Itch.io. It's a solo-dev project; every bit of support buys more time to keep pushing it forward.
